Position Summary

The position will research prospective market areas in keeping with consumer interests and the organization’s capabilities; actively solicit companies/corporations; obtain necessary job specifications; submit bids; follow-up through to bid acceptance; and coordinate orientation to the site and crew start with designated personnel. The position will also follow-up regularly with established customers to ensure ongoing satisfaction; assess any additional subcontracting needs; and to address/remedy any issues or concerns. Additionally, the position will establish, train, direct, and oversee a business development team with responsibility for expanded development of new, paid crew opportunities for consumers enrolled in the Work Readiness Program in both the Antelope and Santa Clarita Valleys.

Key Responsibilties

  • Responsible for building partnerships with business and industry within the Antelope and Santa Clarita Valleys
  • The acquisition of new contracted work/vocational training opportunities for persons with disabilities engaged in vocational training on supported crews (1:3 ratio) within the Work Readiness Program
  • Maintenance of established contracts
  • Further responsible for creating/building a contract procurement/business development sales team for the purpose of acquiring new business/crew opportunities

Qualifications

Preferred

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field and a minimum of two years’ proven sales/marketing or business development/growth experience
  • Minimum three years supervisory/management experience
  • Experience working with persons with developmental disabilities preferred
  • Knowledge and experience related to government contracts is also a plus
  • Strong, professional interpersonal, communication, customer service, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to analyze markets and market trends, identify new business opportunities, pitch to customers, secure contracts, and strategize for long-term business development and growth Ability to effectively and efficiently organize and prioritize work, manage projects, direct teams, and coordinate with cross-functional teams

Qualifications

Required

  • Sales experience, contract procurement/development, and contract maintenance experience a must
  • Must possess a valid California driver's license with a satisfactory driving record and demonstrate sound judgment, professionalism, and commitment to safety, quality, and ethical business practices
  • Ability to be flexible and follow through in the timely completion of assignments and meeting of quotas and deadlines

Schedule & Compensation

  • Monday - Friday (On-Site)
  • 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. (40 hrs./wk.)
  • Salary: $75,000 annual
